From Rowing Cares: Rowing Cares is celebrating our 30th Anniversary! For the first time, Rowing Cares/The Survivor Rowing Network has entered two boats of cancer survivors in the Head of the Charles. Twelve survivors, from four rowing clubs, and their two MIT coxswains compose our two Collaborative Boats (Grand Masters Women’s 8+ and 4+). Two coaches and hundreds of supporters and volunteers have made this life-changing experience possible. They have been practicing virtually for the past six weeks and are ready to take on the grueling 4,702 meter course. For 11 of the 12 survivors, this is their first time down the Charles course, and we invite the rowing community and supporters to cheer them on and be by their side down the racecourse. Gather your friends, family, teammates for the 4th Annual Pink the Boathouse Challenge in celebration of the survivors competing in their first Head of the Charles. Proceeds help fund community cancer organizations which support cancer patients and their families and rowing clubs which empower cancer survivors.
